In a lot of cases, people will never know what couples go through before they get married. One great thing about being an artist, is you get to tell stories with your artwork. On a wedding day, I never aim to create stories but rather capture them. A photographer should also be able to spot elements of a story and allow the scene to unfold. As mentioned in the previous snippet of this blog, this park, to the normal eye seemed to lack photogenic areas/backgrounds to capture the couple. But really and truly, the professional, you can shoot a couple just about anywhere and the steps to doing so here was great fun!
Along with the adventure of capturing MaryAnn in this park, a favourite part of this shoot was where I saw an opportunity to capture them on these ropes. When I had intiially said to them that I wanted to them to climb on the ropes, they both looked at me with some hesitation. I then said to them that if they are comfortable, the idea I had behind it, was for them to visualise them climbing through all the obstacles and challenges that came their way till now. after sharing that with them, they were quite up for it! They both got on and really enjoyed themselves as they wrestled through the ropes to meet each other. I guarantee you, this is not as easy as it looks, MaryAnn can testify to her shoes getting trapped a couples of times! Despite that they kept going and the idea behind the activity, I believe really helped bring out the emotion and excitement that I think you’d agree are clearly evident in the images below. Once again a super congratulations to MaryAnn and Paul and we look forward to sharing the full wedding blog. To check out their Wedding Snippet, click here and stay tuned for the full blog! Enjoy!
